Approximately $383 Million of Mortgage-Backed Securities Rated

New York, September 16, 2005 -- Moody's Investors Service has assigned a Aaa rating to twelve (12) of the senior certificates issued by Banc of America Alternative Loan Trust, Mortgage Pass-Through Certificates, Series 2005-8. In addition, Moody's assigned a Aa1 rating to a super-senior support certificate. Moody's also assigned ratings ranging from A2 to Baa2 to two (2) subordinate certificates in the deal. Moody's did not rate all of the senior or subordinate certificates in the deal.

A super-senior support class is allocated losses that would otherwise be allocated to the companion super-senior class. As such, a super-senior support class that is small relative to the super-senior class it supports has a risk of higher severity and is rated Aa1.

The securitization is backed by two pools of 15-year and 30-year fixed-rate, Alt-A mortgage loans originated by Bank of America N.A. The ratings are based primarily on the credit quality of the loans, and on the protection from subordination and the shifting interest structure. The credit quality of the loan pool is better than average fixed-rate loan pools backing recent Alt-A securitizations. Moody's expects collateral losses to range from 0.35% to 0.45%.

Bank of America N.A. will service the loans.
