ASIA PACIFIC WEEKLY
19-26 Aug 2015

Amid continued volatility in the global markets, this week’s Asia Pacific Weekly looks at China’s sizeable capital injections in two of its key policy lenders. The two lenders’ policy roles are increasingly important for stimulating domestic economic growth.

We also take a closer look at Japan’s effort to reduce healthcare spending, and the resultant push for increased use of cheaper generics. We will discuss the impact of this shift on Japan’s five largest pharmaceutical companies in a briefing in Tokyo on 27 August.

Further, we just released our annual sovereign updates on India, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Other events this week include our Inside ASEAN briefing in Kuala Lumpur, and an update in Jakarta on Asian Telecommunications and Tower Companies. You’ll find a full list of upcoming events below.

This is also the last week to cast your vote in the annual FinanceAsia APAC Fixed Income Poll. We appreciate your continued support and feedback.

Best regards,
