As we mark the first anniversary of Moody's Research Assistant in market, it's exciting to reflect on how the past 12 months have driven extraordinary innovation and technological advancement through an unwavering commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our diverse customer base.
Since we launched in December 2023, Research Assistant has not just witnessed but actively shaped transformative changes within the Financial Services industry. The power of Research Assistant to accelerate Screening & Idea Generation, Thematic Research & Strategy Pivoting, In-Depth Credit Analysis & Monitoring as well as reporting and configured automations has made it the fastest adopted product ever to come out of Moody’s.
A year of unprecedented growth
By leveraging cutting-edge GenAI technologies and Moody’s expansive data estate, Research Assistant is rewriting the boundaries of what is achievable for our clients. As a member of the original team at Moody’s that began to conceive of ways AI could to bring value to our clients through machine learning with QUIQspread, our automated spreading for our loan origination platform CreditLens in 2018, I am elated by the accelerated advances in AI at Moody’s since then and the real-time impacts Research Assistant is making.
The past year has been nothing short of monumental for Moody's Research Assistant. It debuted as a groundbreaking tool and has continued to evolve alongside the industry and needs of our clients.
- We started with, and have since expanded, our Chat functionality to instantly extract and summarize key insights
- We introduced the Advanced Query workspace, which leverages text to code capabilities to conduct more complex searches, queries and analysis
- We are working with several customers to configure GenAI-powered workflows, leveraging agents automate complete tasks
- This month, we’ve significantly widened the scope of information Research Assistant draws from and will be adding the ability for customers to ask questions and add data about their own portfolios

As we celebrate this major milestone, I am most enthusiastic about what comes next as we continue to expand what is possible with Moody’s Research Assistant and work with our clients to drive innovation across their organizations.
